Erosion of fashion - between text and texture.
Erosion is a conceptual metaphor employed to reveal various aspects of fashion. Over
the course of the research, erosion emerges as both a creative approach and a way of
interacting with objects. Excessive fashion production exhaust environment calling for
rethinking and reacting. In this research, fashion's conventional role erodes into a
conceptual and artistic one. As layers of fashion are peeled back, cultural meanings are
revealed and worn out. Regarding text as material word, fashion is explored as an
archive of personal and collective narratives. Here, text appears in garments and as
garments, creating a dialogue about and with fashion. Outfit is examined as both text
and texture, a linguistic and material structure. The disembodiment of fashion rethinks
its significance, shifting the focus to the fashion object as the material shell of the social
body. In the interaction of matter, form, and meaning, personal expression merges with
cultural discourses, unveiling fashion as both an individual statement and a reflection
of collective identity.
