After the admissions deadline, you will be sent an invite(s) for the online entrance exam to the chosen study field(s) at the Academy. If you apply to several different study programmes from different fields (art, design, architecture) in one application, you will be invited to separate inteviews for each chosen study field in which you will have to participate to be evaluated. Please take into account that the entrance exam accounts for 50% of your admissions score for acceptance at the VDA (other 50% - portfolio).
Please do the following to prepare for the online entrance exam process:
• The applicant must prepare for the interview in advance, ensuring that the video and sound (camera and microphone) quality is good and working properly. The applicant's face should be visible and there should be no bright objects shining behind the Applicant which can block the view;
• Before the start of the admission interview, the applicant is informed about its duration and other requirements;
• The applicant must have an identity confirmation document - passport, ID card, or driver's license, and clearly show it to the admissions committee at the beginning of the interview;
• During the interview, the applicant must be ready to share a screen on the online platform for the admission committee and show the portfolio;
• The applicant introduces themselves to the committee;
• During the interview, the applicant talks only with the admission committee members and answers their questions.
Useful tips to know before the online entrance exam:
• Be aware of the time zone differences for the online entrance exam and prepare ahead of time;
• The duration of the interview may last between 10-20 minutes depending on the number of applicants in each study programme;
• If information regarding the online entrance exam is unclear, please contact the corresponding coordinator sending you the invitation letter to the interview at least 1-2 days before the exam is taking place;
• Rescheduling of the exams are rarely possible and only in extreme circumstances, therefore, please prepare ahead of time.
After the online entrance exam:
• Depending on the results of the interview and calculation of the admissions score, the applicant receives an automatic VDA letter to their contact email (indicating that he/she has been accepted or rejected to study);
• Accepted students should make a decision whether to accept or reject the study offer within the specified timeframe of receiving the acceptance letter on their application to the VDA.
We look forward to meeting you!
