The lithography art course was led by Prof. Jolanta Mikulskytė, lecturer at the VDA Graphic Arts Department.

Lithography (lito- + gr. graphō – I write) is a flat printing technique, one of the youngest printmaking techniques. It is based on a lithographic stone (limestone). The elements to be printed are drawn on the surface of the stone with a greasy pencil, chalk, or lithographic ink, then etched with gum arabic and a mixture of gum and acid of varying strengths. Contemporary lithography combines different media and broader forms of expression: dry lithography (algraphy), offset lithography, photolithography, various combinations: polyester lithography + stone, aluminum plate lithography. Expression is extremely broad: drawing, ink washes, colorfulness, photography, montages, different graininess, etc. So, in my creative processes, I use and develop the expressions of lithography.
