During the "Experience Laboratory" (lecturer prof. Marija Marcelionytė-Paliukė) course of the VAA Graphic Art Bachelor's degree programme (lecturer prof. Marija Marcelionytė-Paliukė), part of the practical sessions for the 3rd year students are held by visiting exhibitions in museums and galleries, where curators, educators and artists give tours and share their experiences. This lecture format, where the students of the whole course participate in the same event at the same time, inspires more active peer-to-peer discussions in the exploration of the contemporary context of art and culture, and encourages the analysis of prevailing trends and the search for answers, not only during the hours of the lecture, but also outside of the Academy, i.e., the experiences are also reflected upon in an informal environment, and to activate this process it is necessary to have some common denominator. It is important to note that the exhibitions are visited with tasks of one kind or another, which transform the position of an "ordinary" viewer into that of an active observer, develop critical thinking, sensitivity and attentiveness to one's surroundings, and encourage self-reflection.
