Mindaugas Šnipas:
I am a sculptor, and I teach sculpture specifically in terms of what it is and what it could be in a contemporary context.
This encompasses the individual with their own perspectives and aspirations, their professional ability to work with form in space and with materials, as well as their ability to find ways and forms of dialogue with the viewer. During the course of study, we would focus on these aspects with the aim of strengthening specific professional skills.
I also teach two more introductory courses – Object Modelling and Modelling of Natural Forms. These courses are designed to develop specific experience in modelling form by analysing its structural and plastic logic and exploring its relationship with space. The courses are not limited to modelling in soft materials (clay modelling); forms are also developed through carving, construction, and other methods, depending on the chosen expressive aims.
