Aim

BA study programme of Textile Art Media is to educate wide-range applied textile specialists by giving them knowledge of applied textile theory and practice, practical skills of textile technologies, and foster critical analytical thinking. After the studies textile artists are able to independently solve creative tasks, work in team projects, apply practical skills when implementing new ideas and orders, participate in exhibitions, develop their distinct artistic style and approach.

Profile of study programme

VAA KF Textile department prepares artists of applied textile, able to professionally, creatively and suggestively use a variety of textile technologies and ways of expression in fields of applied, functional and conceptual textile. Students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fields of textile art and design. The BA study programme of Texstile Art Media is to educate a wide-range specialists of applied textile by giving them theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fields of fabric surface design, surface formation of woven fabrics, fashion accessories, textile objects in architectural contexts, textile expression in social contexts. After the studies textile artists are able to independently solve creative tasks, collaborate with architects, interior designers and customers, initiate projects with social groups, participate in exhibitions, develop distinct artistic style.

Occupational profiles of graduates

Graduates are able to do creative work in the field of applied textile: create fabrics and accessories for interior and fashion, work in the field of interior finish, execute creative projects in social groups, engage in individual creative activities; work in institutions where artist's-designer's qualification is required - enterprises of light industry, firms, etc.
