Endless Thoughts I 2021 07 01 - 11 20
The virtual exhibition is dedicated to the memory of professor Vytautas Brėdikis (1930-2021).
Endless Thoughts is an extension of the thoughts that continues from the past-study years. “The most interesting thing for me was the impression. Leaves an impression — means I remember and it makes a corresponding impact”, in one interview spoke architect professor Vytautas Brėdikis (1930-2021). Following this thought, commemorating the Professor’s influence and legacy in their works and lives, a group of alumni of the Department of Architecture of the Vilnius Art Academy gathered photo-impressions from their everyday spaces of imagination. These snippets form a spontaneous lively mosaic. Photography, as a technique for studying and conceptualizing space, occupied a significant place in the architectural philosophy, pedagogy and creative processes of Professor Vytautas Brėdikis. Dedication to and explorations of the natural world, its forms and manifestations, elements and their change, the interrelations between cosmic cycles and the transformations of human culture, steered the photo-observations of Vytautas Brėdikis, becoming the metaphysical articulations. Such thinking and teaching to observe, to analyse the surrounding environment was passed on to many of his students. “There is no vacuum as a rule” (Vytautas Brėdikis). The human mission has a beginning and an end, and a continuity — nothing ends — continuity gives dynamism in life and creative thinking.
