Life is like a Raskladushka
When I was a kid, I remember, my grandparents used to have a certain folding bed (raskladushka) which was used when me and my sister spent the nights at their place in winter so they were able to fit two kidiots in one place – in doing so, only one extra room needed heating to be turned on. The raskladushka was great then, but most of the time it wasn't needed so it was put down somewhere in the loft.
These artworks have similar vibes as in my other series of drawings called “Animals of Google.” This time there are only far less animals with the exception of beavers. Some of them are from my visual diary while others are a homage to popular culture. All drawings are posted on Instagram – lots of them are prepared for swipe-scroll like reading so in reality reading experience may be a little odd.
Artwork with raskladushka claimed the most of Instagram hearts, so it felt the right way to tittle the exhibition so as well. In the end, the main definition of the exhibition shines through sincere randomness – and raskladushka is truly it.
