On October 22-23, the Department of Textile of Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty is organizing an international virtual conference TEXTILE FOR THE FUTURE.
Commemorating its 80th anniversary Department of Textile, Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty, seeks to revive and extend the tradition of Kaunas as a city of textile culture, which began to develop in the interwar period, gained many new impulses during the Kaunas Art Biennial in 1997-2013, and is lively today.
International virtual conference on TEXTILE FOR FUTURE speakers from Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and the Baltic States will share many years of experience, introduce contemporary textile art and design trends in a global context, draw attention to current issues that are reflected in the contemporary textile art (ecology and tolerance, conscious use of textiles), will also discuss the future of the textile art and design trends and innovations.
