Kaunas Faculty is a subdivision of Vilnius Academy of Arts providing university education for future artists, designers and architects!
Continuing the traditions of the pre-war Kaunas Art School, Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts is the main center of art education in the central part of Lithuania for students from nearly 30 districts of the country.
Kaunas Faculty has 5 departments which offer 17 study programs. The main goal of Kaunas Faculty is to prepare creative and technically competent artists, designers and architects. Students acquire high level of professional skills by working in studios, laboratories and performing practical tasks, while critical and conceptual thinking is developed by studying subjects of social sciences and humanities as well as executing independent creative projects.
The teaching staff at Kaunas Faculty is made up of well-known artists, designers, architects and specialists of humanities who have a wide range of practical and creative experience and are actively involved in the cultural life of Lithuania.
The core strength of Kaunas Faculty is direct communication of teachers and students when executing term assignments, consulting on creative issues, and quite often collaborating in a variety of creative projects.
Located in the heart of the Old Town Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts is proud of the growing creative and organizational relations with neighbouring gallery "Meno parkas", art education institutions Kaunas College Justinas Vienožinskis Faculty of Arts, Antanas Martinaitis School of Arts, Kaunas Gymnasium of Art, Kaunas School of Applied Arts as well as other city organizations and institutions.
