Students from the Metal Art and Jewellery programme of the Academy’s Telšiai Faculty, together with associate professor, head of the programme Neringa Poškutė-Jukumienė, and Dr Jurgita Ludavičienė, participated in the first international gathering of jewellery classes and schools held at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. The event was organised as part of Munich Jewellery Week, which took place in early March this year and brought together contemporary jewellery artists, galleries, schools, and collectors from around the world.

The first international gathering of jewellery classes became a significant event for the contemporary jewellery community, bringing together more than 40 jewellery study programmes from 24 countries.

Representing the faculty were third-year undergraduate student Karolina Kalinauskaitė, fourth-year undergraduate student Milda Šimkevičiūtė, Applied Arts master’s student Emilija Giedraitė, and alumna Indrė Armanavičiūtė, who is currently studying in the Fashion Design master’s programme at the Vilnius Faculty of the Academy.

As representatives of the Telšiai Faculty’s Metal Art and Jewellery programme, they chose a distinctive visual accent: the bridal crown (wreath) from the traditional costume of Lithuania Minor. Naturally associated with jewellery, the crown became a symbolic unifying attribute that attracted considerable attention from the international audience.

During their visit to Munich, the participants also attended other presentations and exhibitions in the "Munich Jewellery Week" programme.
