ramemory: calm [Raminta Dirsytė-Urbonienė, Armine Hayk Sargsyan, Martynas Arlauskas] 11/2–28/2/2025

The loop of exchange began with the first letter—setting in motion slow observations, where thoughts met the edges of paper, and insights curled within the bellies of letters. A hand released a gathering of thoughts, ones that often slip behind digital streams, struggling to find space within the rigid confines of QWERTY. A line was drawn between experience and the present, chasing thoughts and ink alike. As it extended beyond the boundaries of body and mind, it became more than just a physical gesture; it became part of each of our creative identities. Through the acts of writing and reading, the memory of letters (R.A.M.) took shape. Passed from hand to hand, the content became a catalyst for artists’ visual works. What was once a relationship on paper now steps into space, revealing the interwoven perspectives of Raminta, Armine, and Martynas—only this time:

About the artists:

Raminta Dirsytė-Urbonienė (b. 1998) – painter who completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in painting at Vilnius Academy of Arts. By constructing multilayered paintings and spatial objects, she turns fragments of reality into symbols. The reinterpretation and experience of these symbols serve as an attempt to create new ways of seeing, capturing the small yet big events of life.

Armine Hayk Sargsyan (b. 1992) – artist born in Lithuania whose work reflects her Armenian roots and multicultural experience. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in Site-Specific Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In her work, Armine explores the complexities of contemporary life and human experience in it, focusing on themes of temporal traces and existential marks.

Martynas Arlauskas (b. 2000) – artist and educator who explores interpersonal relationships and the spaces they create. He studied in the Site-Specific Art program at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, with a focus on social issues and Lithuanian Sign Language. His artistic practice aims to create situations that connect people, creativity, education, and visual communication.
