Crazy Good Vol. 2 Creative Workshops in Gdansk
Students and faculty from the VAA Kaunas Faculty of Graphic Design and Design Programs participated in the second edition of the Crazy Good Vol. 2 design workshops at the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts from April 4th to 8th. This participation marks the result of continuous collaboration with the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts. A productive partnership with the Cultural Space Architecture Department of the partnering institution was established during the international design workshops NewIDeA, which are held annually by the VAA Kaunas Faculty at the Nida Art Colony and attract partners from the arts, business, and scientific fields.
During the Crazy Good Vol. 2 creative workshops, student teams led by instructors from Lithuania, Poland, and Israel addressed complex and engaging issues related to the design of public spaces. The workshop's partner and client, the Hossa Group, one of the largest real estate developers in Gdansk, sought solutions for the former military garrison complex known as the "Cultural Garrison" (Polish: Garnizon Kultury). This dynamic location, imbued with historical significance and adapted to the needs of cultural life, demanded attractive solutions for public spaces. This challenge became the primary task of the creative workshops, tackled by three student and instructor teams.
On April 8th, a public presentation of the workshop results was held at the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts, attended by representatives of the Hossa Group, the client, and the academic community. Creative projects tailored to three different public spaces were presented to the client and the academic community. We are pleased that the creativity of the students from the VAA Kaunas Faculty of Graphic Design and Design Programs transcends national boundaries, contributing to the recognition of VAA and Lithuanian design abroad!
