Benas Liandzbergis I For the walking ones

I have been creating and designing shoes for almost two years. The exhibition „For the walking ones“ is quite ironic. While creating these works, I was sitting at home, like most of us were. It is ironic that at the time when all of us have been forced to sit at home, I was creating and customizing shoe-objects, the main things that help us walk. You won‘t find anything comic in my works. You‘d rather find my color and composition solutions, which might feast your eyes, once you start walking along the streets of Vilnius again.
I started customizing shoes because since my teenage years I have been greatly interested in shoes, street wear, music. Sport as well. Sneakers seemed to be the most important attribute of the current outfit. I always look at the feet first, so it’s natural that I developed my desire to work with shoes. Currently, I am still in search of my authentic style, which might be shown this year. Until then, I keep creating whatever comes to my mind and try to fit it into the shoe and its proportions to fit well.

Benas Liandzbergis (nickname Artistas). In 2020 graduated from BA studies in Fresco-mosaic at Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA). Currently, for now Benas Liandzbergis pursuing Master’s degree in Site-specific Art at VAA. In 2019, Benas had first solo exhibition, which showcased customized shoes as well.
