Without You I'm Nothing is an interactive exhibition in which the works react to their environment and are only fully active when visitors are present.
In this exhibition, I explore different strategies of interactive art. The starting point is Ryszard W. Kluszczynski's article "Strategies of interactive art" (2010). In it, Kluszczynski pinpoints the strategies of instrument, game, archive, labyrinth, rhizome, system, network, and spectacle. The search for nuances, similarities and differences in elements such as interfaces, interactions, data organisation, software and hardware, has become the basis for these different interactive works.
The title of the exhibition refers to the relationship between the visitors of the works, but also to one of my favourite songs by Placebo "Without You I'm Nothing", notes of which can be played by touching a plant connected to a virtual synthesiser created in the environment of pure data.
This is the outcome of the postdoctoral fellowship "Exploring Interactive Art Strategies and Active Participation. A practice-based mapping of audience engagement";. This project has received funding from the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT), agreement No P-PD-22-059_VDA.
