Aim

The study programme aims to develop the historical, theoretical, and the dissemination of art and artistic competences with a dailėtyrininkus event curator who acquired dailėtyros, architektūrologijos, muziejininkystės and kuratorystės knowledge to competently and creatively shall, acting in a modern public concerns: paying self-made work of art study, interpretation of works of art, by applying the fundamental theories and methods for the evaluation of dailėtyros, in the historic, cultural and artistic processes in the context of the social, academic and art criticism texts, preparing art exhibitions and other projects for the dissemination of art.

Profile of study programme

After completing program of Art Studies and Curatorship bachelors are able to research and interpret chosen artistic object, to use sources of the history of art and architecture, to employ main theories and methods of art history, to evaluate artistic processes in the historical, cultural and social contexts, to write all kinds of articles on art, to prepare art exhibitions and other projects of art dissemination.
This is the one and only bachelor program in Lithuania where students alongside to the studies of the history of art and architecture are presented with the theory and practical information connected to the art exhibitions and other artistic projects. Up-to-dated theories of the contemporary art and curatorship, principles and models of art curating are presented having in mind the actualisation of different cultural periods through art exhibitions. Students have possibilities to get practical knowledge about the activities of museums, galleries, funds, auctions and artistic initiatives.

Occupational profiles of graduates

Graduates can work in science, all institutions, museums, galleries and other exhibitions in the production and diffusion of organizuojančiose institutions, trade unions, periodicals, publishers. May also apply the acquired knowledge and skills in advertising, administration, tourism, the implementation of the free creative projects, translating from foreign languages, and to exhibit their artistic creation.
