From 9 to 13 June, the Vilnius Academy of Arts welcomed academic and administrative staff from partner institutions and members of the KUNO network for the International Staff Week.
The event brought together participants from 19 countries, offering a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, the cultivation of international relationships, and the exploration of collaborative opportunities. Attendees engaged in a variety of activities across different VDA departments, gaining insights into institutional practices and sharing their own experiences.
A central highlight of the week was the annual Graduation Show, where international guests were invited to view the final projects of graduating the VDA's students. Dr. Vygintas Orlovas and prof. Marija Marcelionytė-Paliukė conducted comprehensive guided tours of the Vilnius Faculty laboratories and exhibition spaces, showcasing the breadth and quality of student work.
Throughout the week, participants also attended lectures and presentations delivered by VDA faculty members, including the Rector, Prof. Ieva Skauronė, Prof. Dr. Vytautas Michelkevičius, Audronė Drungilaitė, Dr. Julija Fomina, Lina Košeleva, and Aistė Ivanovaitė, who shared their academic and professional expertise.
The program included a visit to the Kaunas Faculty, as well as a tour of Panemunė Castle—a distinctive off-campus site of the Academy—led by Dr. Marius Daraškevičius. These excursions provided guests with a broader understanding of VDA’s academic environment and cultural heritage.
International Staff Week significantly contributed to strengthening existing partnerships, fostering innovative ideas, and reinforcing the commitment to international cooperation in education, research, and the arts.
The International Relations Office sincerely thanks all VDA departments involved in the organisation of the event!
