The MA artwork of the VDA faculty of Klaipėda Visual Design study programme alumni and VDA lecturer Vaida Atkočaitytė-Dališanskienė earned a prestigious LIT "Lighting Design Award" in three different categories.

The contest is well-known around the world by appreciating the creativity and innovation of the participants. Participants from over 58 countries have presented their artwork to the committee in different categories. The committee was formed by 35 professionals, including architects, interior designers, lighting designers, academics, and media representatives.

The MA artwork of Vaida Atkočaitytė-Dališanskienė is comprised of two lighting compositions: "Mood" and "Mini Mood". Both compositions have a similar purpose and principal, only the size and compositions are different. The main idea of the lightings is to provide everyone the opportunity to become an artist and create their own color composition by the mood and day-night rhythm.

The committee has been fascinated by the module design and awarded Vaida Atkočaitytė-Dališanskienė the prize of an "Emerging Lighting Designer of the Year 2024" for her creation "Mood". The creation "Mini Mood" has been named in the category of "Decorative Accent Lamps"

The base of the creation has been made out of sustainable and easily-recycled materials, like the pained and milled MDF panel with a wooden shell. The compositions are made out of different oranic glass materials, of which some are extremely small size. The source of the light is a flexible casing lantern with an LED light bulb (3000 K.).

The Head of the MA artwork is the VDA Klaipėda faculty Interior Design study programme prof. Saulius Jusionis.
