On the 5th of May, 2025, the official partnership and support agreement has been signed between the VDA and the Vilnius Club at the VDA Old Palace. Representatives from the Vilnius Club, the VDA executives, and academic community members have all participated in the event.
According to the agreement, Vilnius Club has committed to allocate financial support of around 28 000 Eur., which will be given to finance two places for students in the VDA Art and Interior Restoration MA study programme, Architecture restoration specialization.
"We gather in seeking to contribute to the significant initiatives and projects of our city, hence, we understand the financing aspect of the VDA Architecture restoration studies as a great responsibility. I am certain that it should be significant to every resident of Vilnius, as I sincerely thank everyone who contirbuted to the Vilnius Club fund, and in particular, the Vilnius Club member Ramūnas Audzevičius and the Kazimiero Motiekos charity and support foundation" - Chairman of the Vilnius Club fund, Vilius Bernatonis.
"The Vilnius Club members often visit various culture and heritage objects which require saving by the restoration specialists. We appreciate the partnership with the Academic community, as we established a prize for the research project about Vilnius, as well as a partnership agreement with the Rector conference of the Lithuanian higher education institutions." - Chairwoman of the Vilnius Club fund, Prof. Alina Pūrienė.
The Rector of the VDA, Prof. Ieva Skauronė states that this support to the Vilnius Academy of Arts is not only a financial incentive, but also a sign of trust which proves that the specialty of academic restoration is a part of the cultural responsibility nowadays. To the younger specialists it is a significant motivation to choose the path of higher education, which contributes to preservation of the historic city structures, buildings, and cultural values.
