On January 27th, students of the Vilnius Academy of Arts participated in the annual Vilnius Light Festival, where they presented seven original light installations as part of the “Young Light” program, attracting significant interest from festival visitors.

“Young Light” is a creative project developed by the Vilnius Faculty students of the VDA as part of the Design department’s study programme, which was integrated into the official program of the Vilnius Light Festival.

During the festival, the following student installations were presented in the Academy’s spaces:

  • “Moments That Stand Still” (by J. Kulikauskaitė, U. Juciutė, U. Liebutė, K. Manatova, A. Marcinkevičiūtė);
  • “Flower Garden” (by C. Garland, K. Pakholkava, R. Račinskaitė, A. Venckevičiūtė);
  • “Invisible Steps” (by V. Gališanskytė, T. Lazauskas, G. Urbanavičiūtė, G. Valužytė);
  • “Screaming Tubes” (by N. Duffy, M. Katynina, V. Oliinyk, E. Polishcyk);
  • “The River Flow Game” (by S. Chepel, T. A. Knudsen, A. Lechnio);
  • “Tornado” (by A. Bonnin, D. Sergeeva, A. Ulasava-Razanskaya, A. Wagner);
  • “Legends of Vilnius” (by E. Klimaitė, K. Misiūnaitė, A. Putrimaitė, A. Sosunovičius).

The students were supervised by the following associate professors of Vilnius Faculty Design department - Denis Orlenok and Gintarė Černiauskaitė.

Throughout the creative process, students worked both individually and in teams, conducting light-based research, developing concepts and prototypes, and producing final installation solutions adapted for public urban spaces. The installations invited visitors to pause, observe, and experience light in diverse architectural and urban contexts.
