On November 10th - 21st, Monika Patuszyńska, a globally renowned artist with extensive creative experience, will be visiting the Ceramics Department of the VDA. She will lead the creative workshop series “Breaking the Mould”, introducing academy students and faculty to exceptional ceramic techniques, presenting her artistic ideas, and providing insights into the global context of contemporary ceramics.
Location: VDA Ceramics department (Maironio St. 6, Vilnius).
Monika is an artist and curator, an explorer of abandoned spaces and uncharted paths. In 1999 she graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. She was the last designer at the Zakłady Porcelitu Stołowego Pruszków (Pruszków Table China Factory) and the last president of the International Ceramics Symposium “Porcelain Another Way”. Since 2009 she has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC/IAC) based in Geneva.
Between 2014 and 2016 she held the position of the Artistic Director at the Institute of Design in Kielce. Her works can be found in museum collections across the world, including the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art in Gifu, Japan, Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum in China, Mungyeong Ceramics Museum in Korea, Keramikmuseum Danmark in Denmark and Musée de la Céramique in Vallauris, France.
Thanks to cooperation with the New York office of the architect Peter Marino, her works can be found in the Maison Guerlain salon in Paris, the Chanel in Singapore or the famous Tiffany’s boutique in New York "Addicted to porcelain".
Fascinated by the passage of time and everything that comes with it.
