Apply for ERASMUS+ internship at the Lithuanian Pavilion of the 61st International Contemporary Art Venice Biennale

The Lithuanian National Museum of Art will present the national pavilion at the 61st International Contemporary Art Venice Biennale from 5 May to 22 November 2026. Artist Eglė Budvytytė will represent Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Pavilion, located in the former forge Fucina del futuro, will feature the artist’s latest film created specifically for the Biennale (curated by Louise O’Kelly). It is inspired by archaeologist Marija Gimbutienė’s research and theories on Neolithic culture. In this work, archaeological material is poetically transformed into songs, moving images, a choreography of togetherness, and an intimate relationship between the earth and the body.

The pavilion is produced by the National Gallery of Art of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, and the pavilion commissioner is Dr Lolita Jablonskienė.

The National Gallery of Art invites interns to join the team:
Responsibilities during the traineeship:

  • ensure the smooth operation of the pavilion during opening hours;
  • safeguard the exhibition (artwork, equipment, exhibition architecture);
  • actively provide information to visitors in English;
  • sell the catalogue and souvenirs;
  • maintain regular communication with the pavilion organisers.

For students, this traineeship can be funded as an Erasmus+ internship.

Dates: 5 May – 22 November 2026.
Minimum internship period: 2 months. Workload: 24–30 hours per week.
