The second-cycle university level study programme of Ceramics is a programme (code 6211PX018) combining art, humanities, social speciality study subjects, the purpose of which is to prepare a professional specialist of ceramics conforming to international standards and master’s qualification, who is able to design and realise complicated visual art and authorial design objects, possesses scientific and artistic research skills, is able to create individual artistic conceptions applying innovative problem solving methods, broaden worldview and learn independently, organise and manage work, and co-operate on the international scale, and is able to continue doctoral art studies.

Individual plan for master studies is drawn up for each student, the selected topic is analysed and studied by placing the emphasis on close connection between the ideas and modern technologies as well as interdisciplinarity of various areas of sciences and art.

Master studies of Ceramics offers a wide scope of knowledge on science and art, provides experience to conduct research on science and art and carry out research work. They also cultivate the skills of practical-creative and systematic, thinking and understanding of the processes of contemporary ceramics in the global and local, science, business and socio-cultural contexts.
