Dovana Vilniaus dailės akademijos bibliotekai

Vilniaus dailės akademijos bibliotekos fondas 2025 m. pradžioje pasipildė JAV Rod Ailendo universiteto (URI) profesorės emeritės Mary Hollinshead dovanotomis knygomis. Bibliotekos darbuotojai sutvarkė ir aprašė knygas, jų metaduomenis šiandien galime rasti Bibliotekos virtualiame kataloge.

Baigusi klasikinės archeologijos studijas, M. Hollinshead tyrinėjo senovės architektūrą, skulptūrą ir tapybą. Pagrindinis jos dėmesys buvo skirtas žmogaus elgesio ir graikų architektūros, ritualų bei ceremonijų sąsajai. Savo darbuose apie romėnų skulptūrą ji nagrinėjo statulų kūrimo procesus ir imitavimo metodus. Rod Ailando universitete (URI) dėstė senovės graikų meną ir archeologiją, romėnų meną ir archeologiją bei viduramžių meną. Taip pat bendradarbiavo su istorijos ir antropologijos programų kolegomis kuriant Archeologijos grupę ir rengiant tarpdisciplininius kursus, tarp jų – kultūrinio paveldo seminarus.

M. Hollinshead moksliniai tyrimai vyko Italijoje (Murlo), Kipre (Toumba tou Skourou) ir Graikijoje (Korinte, Korfu). Ji skaitė paskaitas Anglijoje, Graikijoje ir Vokietijoje. Buvo parodos „Rethinking the Romans“, vykusios Rod Ailendo dizaino mokyklos muziejuje, kuratorė.

2012 m. M. Hollinshead buvo apdovanota Archeologijos asociacijos apdovanojimu už išskirtinį darbą bakalauro studijų programoje „Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award“.

Kviečiame užsukti į Vilniaus fakulteto bibliotekos Meno skaityklą susipažinti su dovanotomis knygomis, kurios bus eksponuojamos iki š. m. lapkričio 7 d. Vėliau knygos bus perkeltos į Meno skaityklos kolekcijų kabinetą ir išduodamos panaudai Akademijos bendruomenei.
