The works on relevant topics - "Emigration" and "Journey" - will be presented by Onutė Petkevičiūtė, associate professor of the VAA Ceramics Department. 

"Emigration" - silhouettes with a surface of matte glazes and patinated metal as refer to the cooling of human relationships and painful events. "Journey" is a feeling of movement and passing time - a play of color and textures.

About Onutė Petkevičiūtė

Ona Petkevičiūtė is a creator of traditional ceramics. Her interest is various techniques and technologies. She uses a potter’s wheel a lot and teaches others these subtleties. Shie tries to combine ceramic materials with wood, metal, glass. The main theme of the work is a unique artistic pot, as well as creating thematic compositions. Throughout her life, she was fascinated by Lithuanian red clay, which inspired her to create, shape and throwing. Experiments with chamotte high firing clay lately.

Ona Petkevičiūtė was born in 1951. Member of the LAA since 1983, teaches at the Department of Ceramics since 1988, Associate Professor in Vilnius Academy of Arts since 1994. Participates in international and national exhibitions and symposiums, organized 8 solo exhibitions, participated in 125 group exhibitions, has received 5 diplomas in Lithuanian and Latvian exhibitions and biennials. He has prepared a non-formal education program for people with disabilities, a curriculum and methodological material for traditional ceramics, a publication entitled “Basics of Teaching Traditional Ceramics”, and an educational film “The Clay Road”.
