The Vilnius Academy of Arts hosted a few delegations from South Africa, Ukraine and Azerbaijan during it’s annual Graduation Show on June 3-14, welcoming guests from Tshwane University of Technology, University of Johannesburg, Kharkіv State Academy of Design and Arts, Lviv National Academy of Arts and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. These visits underscored a commitment to international academic collaboration and artistic exchange.
The delegations included a number of senior management members and academics from different study areas, such as: Herman Botes -Head of the Department of Visual Communication at Tshwane University of Technology, Tariene Gam -Head of the Architecture and Industrial Design Department at Tshwane University of Technology, Nina Newman -the Jewellery Design Lecturer at the Department of Fine and Studio Arts at the Tshwane University of Technology, Kyle Graham Brand - Lecturer at the Industrial Design Department at the Tshwane University of Technology, Federico Freshi - the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture at the University of Johannesburg, Martin Bolton - Head of the Industrial Design Department at University of Johannesburg, Anna Kurinna - Head of Audiovisual Arts department in Kharkіv State Academy of Design and Arts, Taras Lesiv - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research in Lviv National Academy of Arts and Natig Mahamaliyev - Senior Specialist of the Department of International Relations, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
Guests met with the VDA senior management team, the VDA International Office team members as well as visited and collaborated with Textile, Architecture, Photography and Media Art, Restoration, Art History, Product and Graphic Design departments in Vilnius faculty and 3D Objects of Art: Glass, Sculpture and Ceramics in Kaunas faculty as well as Textile and Design laboratories.
The participation of these esteemed South African, Ukrainian and Azerbaijani academics in the VDA Graduation Show has created a remarkable opportunity for cross-cultural and academic exchange in the future.
