Gunther Ludwig

Since 2011, holds the position of teacher for history and theory of art at ESAD Orléans - Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design. Simultaneously, he is developing an independent activity of critic and curator in contemporary art, with a central interest for the issues of mobility, territory and the shaping of urbanity. "Displacement(s)"

2018 03 29, 1 pm, auditorium 102 , Malūnų st. 3

A conference based on the notion of displacement(s) in contemporary art, focusing on the french art scene. The talk will examine the relation between the issue of people migrations (either intentional or endured) and the shift in the artist's work, the means employed for their research, how they address other forms of knowledge (such as history, sociology, anthropology, etc.) to enlarge their view and production. This moving practice takes place in a context of globalization that will surely produced hybrid forms of art and renewed approaches from accidental convention to the intake of other culture, tradition and know-hows. This theme of research is explored in my personal activities as an art critic and curator.

Moderator prof. Henrik B. Andersen.
