In June 2024 the VDA announced an exceptional opportunity for the VDA foreign students and recent graduates to participate in the nationally-funded internship competition within the framework of the “UpinLT” project (Foreign Practitioners in Lithuania Programme). The programme aims to ensure foreign students’ professional integration in Lithuania by doing internships at various art institutions.
Internships take place in various art galleries, associations and companies with trained professionals which aim to provide the interns with valuable skills to enhance both practical and theoretical knowledge, which is essential for the effective artwork practices in the future. The internship outcomes include the participant's ability to work independently and in teams to execute various tasks based on art focus, demonstrate proficiency in using artwork tools and materials, apply appropriate strategies and principles to practical scenarios when executing tasks related to art, and efficiently contribute to art projects.
In total, 15 VDA foreign students/recent graduates have already started their internships. From September 2024 until November 2024 a few other students will benefit from this funded internship programme.
All students/recent graduates are granted a 650 Eur/month scholarship throughout the entire duration of their internship. The practical training takes place for a minimum of two months for students and a minimum of four months for the recent graduates.
We hope this excellent opportunity will further enhance international student experience at the VDA and contribute to their personal and professional development.
