MEDIARAMAS*: a series of events rewinding 25 years of the VDA FAMM Department!

SAVE THE DATES! PROGRAMME BELOW

In 1956, when the electronics company Ampex introduced the first videocassette and recorder in California, in the city of Vilnius...
In 1988, when the VideoFilmFest started in Berlin, the first Lithuanian video art exhibition "Meetings" took place in Klaipėda.
In 1997, when the same festival in Berlin was renamed "Transmediale", the Department of Photography and Videoart was established at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In 2001 it was renamed the FMM (Photography and Media Art) and in 2022 the FAMM (Photography, Animation and Media Art) department.
In 2016, when the last videocassette recorder (VCR) was produced in Japan, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey was shot dead at a photography exhibition.

We invite you to the series of events MEDIARAMAS, which will rewind the quarter century of the VDA FAMM Department with images, sounds, movements, conversations, meetings and discussions. The programme includes exhibitions, performances, screenings, artist talks and a symposium.
