In July 2018, 12 students from Klaipeda faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts together with the faculty's dean Alvydas Klimas and head of the Contemporary Art and Media programme Ruta Jakstoniene participated in the International Week of Visual Communication organized by the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.
Camilo José Cela University, named after Nobel Literature Prize winner Camilo José Cela (1916-2002) is Erasmus study program partner institution of the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Cooperation between the two institutions started when lecturer dr. Pablo Navazo Ostua from Camilo José Cela University came to Klaipeda upon an invitation from the Klaipeda faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts. During his visit, dr. Ostua gave lectures to Klaipeda faculty’s students and invited them to the International Week of Visual Communication at UCJC. The invitation was accepted!
Students from Lithuania had an intense week of various activities in Madrid. There were meetings with the representatives from various fields organized – students met professionals from advertising, IT and other industries. Students also had an opportunity to visit Google Spain, Microsoft New Techonologies Center, TRIBAL Agency, Madrid Rio by bike, Museum Reina Sofía and Prado museum. During the visit Lithuanian students created visual proposals for the renewal of the logo of Madrid city.
