Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts, Municipality of Kaunas and Brno City Museum invites you to an exhibition „Villa Tugendhat 1928-2019“opening at 5PM Tuesday 10 September 2019. The exposition consists of numerous display panels that present the history of the Villa Tugendhat from its inception to the present day.

Villa Tugendhat - a department of Brno City Museum – is a unique house designed by a German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. A monument of modern architecture was built in 1929-1930, and is the only example of modern architecture in the Czech Republic inscribed in the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. Villa Tugendhat is unique work of art in terms of design, layout, interior equipment, technical facilities and integration into the natural environment.

The exhibition is accompanied by a lecture at 1.30PM Tuesday 10 September. During the lecture, Barbora Benčíková, a representative of the Study and Documentation Centre at the Villa Tugendhat Brno City Museum, will present a film on restoration and renovation of the Villa.
