From 1617 to 1864, Vilnius Catholic monasteries chapels were a part of the city's regional sound
Due to the lack of sheet music of the chapels of Roman and Greek rite Catholic monasteries in the city of Vilnius, the work delves into the practice of vocal-instrumental collectives – the making of music by bands in the city. The reconstruction of the Vilnius regional sound could benefit from this work.
The objective is to reveal how the chapels of Vilnius Roman and Greek rite Catholic monasteries in the Vilnius countryside played a role and contributed to society in the 17th and 19th centuries.
