Aim

To educate wide-range artists-ceramicists, able to independently work in the area of contemporary artistic ceramics, individually or in a creative team. To educate the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions and maintain professional competence through lifelong learning.

Profile of study programme

VAA graduates of the Ceramics department are wide-range artists-ceramicists, able to create in the areas of functional artistic ceramics, ceramic design, decorative and conceptual ceramics, aware of, able to manage and combine ways of ceramic expression (plastic expression, decoration, firing methods), techniques and technologies, manage and combine ways of visual expression, techniques and technologies, adjust the relation of space and object, compose. Artists will be able to experiment while creating and pursue original forms of individual artistic style and self-expression, express themselves through different styles, genres and forms in the chosen speciality and neighbouring fields, know how to express their artistic ideas verbally, visually and in writing. They will be able to organize, plan and present creative projects. Graduates will also be able to reflect, analyze, systematize, apply and evaluate information and to use it in cultural interdisciplinary space, they will have basics for lifelong learning.

Occupational profiles of graduates

Graduates execute individual creative activities, participate in local and international art projects, carry out orders for public and private spaces, work as artists in ceramic manufactures and art galleries; those who have acquired qualification of educationalists work in secondary schools, art studios for children and youth, healthcare institutions. After completion of Bachelor studies graduates have well-developed skills of self-study, necessary to continue studies in the next cycle of studies.
